******************** June 2024 - Apologies but we are currently not ordering new supplies of Matcha stock into the country at the moment. Please email us via the contacts page if you would like us to update you on future deliveries. *********************

We hold stock of culinary matcha for our commercial cafe customers or can purchase this to order for you. If you would like to enquire on the sizes of packages we offer please just email us. Matcha is finely ground pure green tea which we import directly from source in Japan (Uji region). Matcha is enjoyed for its distinctive flavour and texture.  Because of the finely ground nature of matcha it has a far shorter shelf life than other tea.

A little more about this matcha ...

Culinary matcha is more astringent than our traditional Drinking Matcha (Usucha) and is used as an added ingredient in beverages, baking and cooking both sweet and savoury dishes. It can be incorporated into recipes in a variety of ways with endless possibilities.

Try: Adding the dry powder to other ingredients that are going to be vigorously blended e.g baking, smoothies and juices - Making a paste with hot water and adding boiled and frothed milk to create a latte style drink - Making a paste with hot or cold liquid to use in dressings. For your measure be guided by your recipe. We generally suggest 1/2 teaspoon per serve for a mix in beverages but depending on the amount of liquid you are adding you may need 1 teaspoon.

Try our Matcha Green Tea Smoothie Bowl to boost your greens at any time of the day.  Or if you are in need of a delicious refreshing drink try our Matcha Green Tea Mocktail

Tip: To avoid small lumps of matcha in your final creation always pass each measure through a fine mesh sieve immediately prior to use.

Best Before Date: The fine powder nature of matcha means it has a much shorter shelf life than traditional leaf tea.

Packaging and Storage: To ensure the best keeping qualities of our matcha it remains in its original tin within our Stir packet (don't be confused by the bbf date on the original tin, this is in US format, look at the date on our packet). Matcha is extremely sensitive to light and moisture so please store in a dark cool place and limit exposure of the contents to air each time you open it.

Customer Feedback: I just tried your culinary matcha in my smoothie - I still have some left from xxxx (another brand) that I had - and I can't believe the difference! The xxxx is dark green and so bitter - like medicine. I can hardly drink it. What a pleasant surprise to drink yours!
