This is one of the traditional elements used to prepare a bowl of Japanese matcha green tea. It is a split bamboo tea whisk called a Chasen, which is used to whip the finely ground green tea with water to create a drink with a gentle foam on the surface.

To protect your whisk we recommend soaking in a hot water for a few moments prior to using it. Run it under hot water after using to clean.
